¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? John 14:23. Rom 8:9. 1 Cor 6:19. 2 Cor 6:16. Gal 4:6. Hebr 3:6.
¹⁷ If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Lev 26:12. Jer 31:1. 1 Cor 3:16. 1 Cor 6:19.

¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
²⁰ And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Isa 28:16. 1 Pet 2:4.
²¹ In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: Col 2:19.
²² In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. 2 Cor 6:16.

⁴ To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Matt 16:18. Matt 21:42.
⁵ Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Mal 1:11. Rev 1:6.

⁵ And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
⁶ But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Psa 2:7. 1 Cor 3:16. Eph 5:23. Col 1:23. 1 Tim 3:15.

²⁴ Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: Rom 5:3.

¹⁴ These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
¹⁵ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
