Bible. House of God

The LORD hath chosen Zion for his habitation

7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool. Psa 18, 6.
8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. 2Ch 6, 41.

13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. 1Ki 9, 3.
14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. 1Ki 8, 13.

A house for the Lord to dwell in

6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy [place, even] under the wings of the cherubims. 2Ch 5, 7. Exo 25, 18.
7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. Deu 10, 5. Heb 9, 4.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, Exo 40, 34.
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD. Exo 16, 10.
12 Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness. 2Ch 6, 1.
13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

We are the house of the Lord, but under the condition…

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Psa 2, 7. 1Co 3, 16. Eph 5, 23. Col 1, 23. 1Ti 3, 15.

4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Mat 16, 18. Mat 21, 42.
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Mal 1, 11. Rev 1, 6.

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Lev 26, 12. Jer 31, 1. 1Co 3, 16. 1Co 6, 19.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Jhn 11, 25. 1Th 4, 14.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Zec 2, 10. 1Co 3, 16. Rev 3, 20.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. Jhn 12, 49.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1Pe 2, 5. 1Co 3, 16. 2Co 6, 16.
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Act 20, 28. 1Pe 1, 19. Gal 3, 13.

12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, Mar 11, 15. Luk 19, 45. Jhn 2, 14.
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. Isa 56, 7. Jer 7, 11. Mar 11, 17. Luk 19, 46.

Our heavenly home

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Job 4, 19. Heb 9, 11.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: Rom 8, 23.
