Bible. Church — Body of Christ
Our bodies are the members of Christ
15
Know ye not that
your bodies are the members of Christ?
shall I then take the members of Christ, and make
them
the members of an harlot?
God forbid.
Eph 5, 30.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. Gen 2, 24. Mat 19, 5. Mar 10, 7. Eph 5, 31. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1Pe 2, 5. 1Co 3, 16. 2Co 6, 16. 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Act 20, 28. 1Pe 1, 19. Gal 3, 13.
11
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. Rom 12, 4. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Mar 1, 8. Gal 3, 28.
27
Now
ye are the body of Christ,
and
members in particular.
Eph 5, 23.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Rom 12, 6. Eph 4, 11.
15
I speak as to wise men;
judge ye what I say.
1Co 1, 5.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? Mat 26, 26. Act 2, 42, 46. 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. Jhn 6, 33.
4
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
1Co 12, 12.
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also
ye are called in one body;
and be ye thankful.
Eph 4, 3.
Phl 4, 7.
13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off
are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Act 2, 39.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Isa 9, 6. Jhn 16, 33. 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 2Co 5, 17. 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. Isa 57, 19. Zec 9, 10. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Jhn 14, 6. Rom 5, 2. Heb 10, 19. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Isa 28, 16. 1Pe 2, 4. 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: Col 2, 19. 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit 2Co 6, 16.
1
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
Act 21, 33.
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: Act 9, 15. Gal 1, 16. 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Eph 1, 9. 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 1Pe 1, 12. 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Rom 15, 12. 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Act 9, 15.
1
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Phl 1, 27.
Col 1, 10.
1Th 2, 12.
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Rom 12, 5. 1Co 12, 12.
18
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
2Co 11, 14.
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Eph 4, 15. Growth of the Body of Christ
The Body of Christ fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
11
And he gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;
1Co 12, 28.
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 1Co 14, 20. 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Rom 12, 9. Eph 1, 22. Col 1, 18. 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
