¹ Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
² That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
³ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Мф 24, 4. Мк 13, 5. Лк 21, 8. Еф 5, 6.
⁴ Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Дан 11, 36. Откр 13, 1.
⁵ Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
⁶ And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
⁷ For the mystery of iniquity doth already work (τὸ γὰρ μυστήριον ἤδη ἐνεργεῖται τῆς ἀνομίας): only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. Деян 20, 29.
⁸ And then shall that Wicked (ὁ ἄνομος) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Ис 11, 4. 1 Ин 2, 18. Откр 19, 15.
⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 3 Цар 22, 22. Мф 24, 24.
¹² That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: Лк 3, 32. Деян 13, 22. Рим 15, 12.
² And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; Ис 61, 1.
³ And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Ис 2, 4.
⁴ But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked (רָשָׁע). Иов 4, 9. 2 Фес 2, 8.
⁵ And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Пс 44, 5.
⁶ Тогда волк будет жить вместе с ягненком, и барс будет лежать вместе с козленком; и теленок, и молодой лев, и вол будут вместе, и малое дитя будет водить их. Ис 65, 25.
⁷ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
⁸ And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 1 Кор 3, 1. Пс 57, 5.
⁹ And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. Ам 5, 24.
