Seed of Woman (offspring of woman)
Enmity between the serpent and the woman,
between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman
After the ancestors disobeyed the Creator and followed the serpent the LORD God sent Adam forth from the garden of Eden
(Gen 3:23)
and the enmity between the serpent and the woman and between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman
(Gen 3:15)
determines the history of mankind.

cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field;
upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

In this battle those, who is the good seed and fights on the side of the woman, — are the children of the Kingdom

Those, who outwardly appears righteous unto men,
are serpents, generation of vipers
The Saviour explains that the scribes and pharisees outwardly appear as the offsring of woman, who is jealous for God, but in the reality are the generation of the serpent (generation of vipers). That is why they were liars and hypocrites. According to Josephus Flavius (Jewish antiquities, 13.10.5, 17.2.4, 18.1.3)
the Pharisees were highly respected throughout Israel.

Repentance
John the Baptist called the people through repentance to convert, to return to God from the evil one. By the means of the penance the man from the seed of the serpent could become the offsring of woman.
The idea of hiding from the face of the Lord God came to the heart of Adam and Eve in paradise, after they obeyed the snake.

Although our belonging to one or the other offspring, still not definitively defined
(Eze 33, 12-20), nevertheless it is not something vague. The Holy Spirit makes us the children of God. If we acquire the Holy Spirit, we will born into eternal life. The Holy Spirit unites us in life with Jesus Christ, bestowing us eternal life. The presence of God's peace is clearly felt. In the conversation with St. Seraphim N. A. Motovilov articulated it this way:
"I feel such calmness and peace in my soul that no words can express it."

according to nature inself. For nature advances from the seed to the generation of sons, not only with regard to bodily generation, but also with regard to spiritual growth: the recipients of instructions advance from from the seeds of teaching to the likeness of the instructors, and for this reason they are called
"sons", or rather
sons of kingdom
when, receiving the seeds of salvation, they perfect themselves in accordance with those seeds, or
sons of hell
if through evil instruction they associate themselves with perdition.

Wicked seed.
That is
the tare sown among the pure wheat by an enemy,
which coming tofruition became the
lawless son, being
the son of perdition
and
the son of hell.
For this reason, those who instead of being
sons of the Most High
become
lawless sons,
and instead of remaining in the divine generation become
wicked seed,
are worthy of lament. Moral wickedness is destructive first of all for those who have it, for the uttermost degree of wickedness is in discord with itself.
But what is the seed of the serpent?
These are his slanderers — fallen angels, and those people who are led by the spirit of this enemy of God are seeded with the devil's direction. Therefore, John the Baptist and other prophets call such people offspring of vipers, meaning this spiritual viper. The Savior Himself calls them children of the devil.

When we are coming into this world, we enter into a struggle. There are two sides involved into this enmity and we are joining one or another. While the time lasts and the definition of the Judge for us is still uncertain, we fight as much as we can. The life of each of us is full of victories and defeats. Trying to define themselfs, we can even sometimes change sides in this struggle: become the seed of the serpent and fight for its victory;
or return to the camp of the woman, becoming her offspring. Such changes are possible while we live in the allotted time. But the time comes to an end and soon the decision of the Judge about each of us will be determined:
