Do not lend upon usury to thy brother

19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money (נֶשֶׁךְ כֶּסֶף), usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury: Psa 14:5.
20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it. Deut 15:3.

Thou shalt lend unto many nations

The Lord God sets one condition: unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury (Deut 23:20), so that the sons of Israel will rule over many nations: thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee (Deut 15:6).

1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. Exo 21:2. Lev 25:4. Jer 34:14.
2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release.
3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;
4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: Srh 4:1.
5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. Deut 28:1-2.
6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. Deut 28:11-12.

Forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors

Our Lord Jesus Christ actually does not recommend us to lend money, because we must forgive our debtors: forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors (Matthew 6:12). At the very least, it is impossible to build a capitalist financial system based on debt forgiveness.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Luke 11:2.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts (τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν), as we forgive our debtors (τοῖς ὀφειλέταις ἡμῶν).
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Сир 28:2. Мк 11:25.
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

A prominent place in the world of money and banking

Jewry really does occupy … an outstanding placein the monetary and banking, and generally financial world.

With its special vitality and exceptional tenacity, Jewry really does occupy, if not the first, then in any case an outstanding place, and not only in the economy, in the monetary and banking, and generally financial world, but also in the most diverse branches of culture: science, the press, art, etc., all of this is interspersed with a Jewish element.

Jewry, as such, is a force that demands submission to itself,

Jewry is the true “axis” of world history in the sense that it is present in it from the very beginning to the end. It is the only people that holds its place in the motley succession of different peoples, in their historical line. At the same time, its strength does not weaken either quantitatively or qualitatively. This is the basic fact in the life of the “chosen people”, it is also predicted in the prophetic books, as evidence of God's will for this. … Jewry, as such, is a force that demands submission to itself, and in fact achieves it in the most diverse situations,…

Usury in Islam
