The building of culture is determined by the spiritual law proclaimed by the Lord Himself: “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”
(Matt 6:21).
A treasure is a spiritual value, something that we recognize as the objective meaning and justification of our life.
The heart in biblical language means the focus of all our spiritual powers and abilities, the knot that ties our personality.
The Savior says that our personality, and therefore all its manifestations, is entirely determined by our treasure;
Thus, our knowledge is determined by what we affirm as Truth, contrary to the central Kantian philosophy of modern times, according to which it is not Truth that determines our consciousness, but consciousness determines Truth. The cultures of modern times, by their proclamation of the autonomy of man, have established ourselves as a “treasure”, a non-negotiable object of faith – ourselves. Instead of God, an idol was set up, man deifying himself, and then the necessary consequence was the further development of culture, which had to justify human self-deification everywhere.
