Bible. Satisfaction of wrath
God Himself against His people
The Lord will not spare, nor have mercy on His people
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you; Eze 11, 12.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations. Jer 1, 16. Jer 7, 14. Eze 5, 14.
9 And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds. Deu 28, 53. 2Ki 6, 29. Lam 4, 10.
11 Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity. Eze 7, 4.
12 A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. Eze 12, 14.
13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them. Eze 7, 8.
14 Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by. Lam 2, 15. Lam 5, 1.
Only the fury of the Lord can purify His people
9 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great. Nah 3, 1.
13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee. Eze 5, 13. Eze 16, 42.
14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.
The sword is sharpened against the people of God
8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished: Eze 33, 27. Jer 47, 6.
12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh. Eze 6, 11.
17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it. Psa 2, 4. Pro 1, 26. Eze 5, 17.
The people of God will be stoned and chopped with swords
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD: Hos 5, 3.
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. Nah 3, 5.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords. Eze 23, 47.
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more. 2Ki 25, 9. Jer 52, 10.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry. Eze 5, 13.
