Asteroid Apophis and the Secrets of Our Lady of FatimaAsteroid 99942 Apophis99942 Apophis is a near-Earth asteroid. It will come scarily close to Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029. At that day it will be only 36 thousand kilometers from the planet. The next close encounter should take place on April 13, 2036. It is even possible, that Apophis will hit the Earth in 2036. Everything depends on the details of the 2029 event. Secrets of Our Lady of FatimaNear the village of Fatima in Portugal the Mother of God was appearing to three shepherd children during six consecutive months beginning on May 13, 1917. She had asked them to pray very much and to make sacrifices for sinners. The Most Holy Virgin revealed the Secret to the shepherds, which later, by Her requests, should be communicated to the Church hierarchy and then published. The last part of the Secret, known as the Third Secret of Fatima, was published by Vatican on June 26, 2000. Below is an excerpt from the Vatican's publication of the Third Secret of Fatima. We also present the comment on the Third Secret by the Roman Pope, which can be interpreted as a fall of an asteroid to Earth.
Angel with a flaming sword
Angel with a flaming sword, flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on
After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!’.
The oceans will flood whole areas of the earth
In 1980 the Roman Pope John Pole II explained the delay of the publication of the Third Secret of Fatima: “Given the seriousness of the contents, my predecessors in the Petrine office diplomatically preferred to postpone publication … if there is a message in which it is written that
the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth,
and that
from one moment to the next millions of people will perish,
truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much
The Holy Father was asked, "What about the Third Secret of Fatima? Should it not have already been published by 1960?" Pope John Paul II replied: "Given the seriousness of the contents, my predecessors in the Petrine office diplomatically preferred to postpone publication so as not to encourage the world power of Communism to make certain moves. "On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired."
