Church. The Parable of the OfficersA certain Tsar went to war against another king and could not win for a long time. He was absolutely sure of His Almightiness and wondered why the victory, which was to come by itself, still not being achieved. Looking attentively at what was happening, the Tsar noticed that his officers do their best to take care of their personal comfort and teach the soldiers entrusted to them to do the same and did not care about achieving victory at all. His subtle opponent successfully used this and already seemed to be very close to victory. Then the Tsar said in his heart: “Let me change the officer corps. It is impossible that I will not win.” He did so and won.

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou
art
cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field;
upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Пс 71, 9.
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed (τοῦ σπέρματός σου) and her seed (τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῆς); it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Gen.14, 18. Пс 111, 1, 2, 4. Зах 6, 13. Gen.22, 9. Пс 22. Пс 70. Зах 12, 10. Ин 3, 14.

He that loveth father or mother more than me
is not worthy of me:
and he that loveth son or daughter more than me
is not worthy of me.
Лк 14, 26.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. Мф 16, 24. Мк 8, 34.

But ye shall be named
the Priests of the LORD:
[men]
shall call you
the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up
a spiritual house,
an holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
‹…› 9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Very pitiful pictureContemporary religion represents a very pitiful thing. Some people like music and others not.
Contemporary religion represents a very pitiful thing: properly speaking, religion as the dominating principle, as the centre of spiritual attraction, does not exist today; instead, there is the so-called religiosity as a personal mood, a personal taste: some people have this taste, others do not, just as some people like music and others not.
