Bible. Travail
Bring forth children sorrowfully
16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly
multiply thy sorrow
and thy conception;
in sorrow (עֵצֶב H6089)
thou shalt bring forth children;
and thy desire
shall be
to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
1 Кор 14, 34.
1
Sing, O barren, thou
that
didst not bear;
break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou
that
didst not travail with child
(חוּל H2342): for more
are
the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
The great and the terrible day of the Lord cometh
1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for
the day of the LORD
cometh, for
it is
nigh at hand;
Чис 10, 3.
Ис 2, 12.
Иоил 1, 15.
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. Иер 13, 16. Иез 30, 3. Ам 5, 18. … 6 Before their face the people shall be much pained (חוּל H2342): all faces shall gather blackness. Наум 2, 10. … 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered (מָלַט H4422): for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance (פְּלֵיטָה H6413), as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Рим 10, 13.
To travail in birth until Christ be formed in children
19
My little children, of whom I travail in birth (ὠδίνω G5605)
again until Christ be formed in you,
… 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Ис 60, 1. Евр 12, 22. Откр 21, 2. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not (ἡ οὐκ ὠδίνουσα G5605): for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Ис 54, 1. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Рим 9, 8. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Gen.21, 9. 30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. Gen.21, 10. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. Гал 3, 29.
Unwise suns stay long in the place of breaking forth of children
About Ephraim, who mixed himself among the people, and do not turn to the Lord their God
12
The iniquity of Ephraim
is
bound up;
his sin
is
hid.
Иов 14, 17.
Иер 17, 1.
13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children. Gen.35, 18. 14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. Пс 15, 10. Пс 55, 14. Деян 10, 42. 1 Кор 15, 55. Евр 2, 14.
2
And he sent Eliakim, who
was
over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3 And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth. 4 Цар 19, 3. Ос 13, 13.
The whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirthWe wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship.
22
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Лк 21, 28. 1 Ин 3, 2. 2 Кор 5, 4. Еф 4, 30.
The Lord gives strength to give birth and to be born
We need it to be born:
7
Before she travailed, she brought forth;
before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Ис 54, 1. Ис 60, 4. 9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Иер 3, 19.
In pain as a woman that travaileth
6
Howl ye;
for the day of the LORD
is
at hand;
it shall come as
a destruction from the Almighty.
Иоил 1, 15.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: 8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. 4 Цар 19, 3. Пс 47, 7. Ис 21, 3. 9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Ис 22, 5. 10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Ис 24, 23. Иез 32, 7. Иоил 2, 31. Иоил 3, 15. Мф 24, 29. Мк 13, 24. Лк 21, 25. 11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
