Bible. Temptation from God

The LORD is testing us to find out whether we love Him

The LORD our God is testing us to find out whether we love Him with all our heart and with all our soul.

1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, Num 12, 6. Mat 24, 24. 1Ki 13, 3.
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Jer 14, 14.
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Mat 7, 15. Jdg 2, 22. Mat 6, 13.
4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. Deu 8, 6. Deu 10, 20. Mic 6, 8.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. Deu 18, 20. Jer 14, 15. 1Ki 18, 40. 1Co 5, 13.

Father… lead us not into temptation

Our Father which art in heaven, … lead us not into temptation (μη εισενεγκης ημας εις πειρασμον), … for Yours is the kingdom and the power.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Luk 11, 2.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
