²⁹ And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, (ἐγκατέλιπεν ἡμῖν σπέρμα), we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. Isa 1, 9. Gen 19, 24.

¹ I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 1Sa 12, 22. 2Co 11, 22. Phl 3, 5.
² God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
³ Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 1Ki 19, 14.
⁴ But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 1Ki 19, 18.
⁵ Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. (λεῖμμα κατ᾽ ἐκλογὴν χάριτος γέγονεν).
⁶ And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Deu 9, 4. Rom 4, 5. Gal 5, 4.

²¹ The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. Isa 9, 6.
²² For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. Rom 9, 27.
²³ For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land. Isa 28, 22.

²³ Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
²⁴ And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. Rev 12, 3. Rev 17, 12.
²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Dan 11, 36. Rev 12, 14.
²⁶ But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 1Co 15, 24.
²⁷ And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Luk 1, 33.
