⁴ Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isa 9, 6. Mar 16, 16. Jhn 6, 40. 1Jo 4, 9-10.
¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

²⁵ He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world (εν τω κοσμω τουτω) shall keep it unto life eternal. Mat 10, 39. Mar 8, 35. Luk 9, 24. Luk 14, 27.
²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Jhn 17, 24.

¹⁷ Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (εν τω κοσμω τουτω).

¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

⁹ Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
¹⁰ Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Rom 13, 12. 1Th 5, 8.
¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Jhn 12, 31. Jhn 14, 30. Eph 2, 2.
¹³ Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
¹⁴ Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Luk 12, 35. 1Pe 1, 13.
¹⁵ And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
¹⁶ Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
