Roman Catholic Diocese of Niigata

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Niigata located in the city of Niigata in the Ecclesiastical province of Tokyo in Japan.

Pope Pius X founded the Apostolic Niigata Prefecture on August 13, 1912 cessions of territory of the diocese of Hakodate. Later on April 16, 1962 with the Apostolic Constitution Sicut provido it was raised as Diocese of Niigata.
