Prayer. Partaking of the Divine nature
According to
Hilarion Dormachev
3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that
pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Рим 8, 30.
4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (θείας κοινωνοὶ φύσεως), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Connection with the Lord
The love of God, as an inner union,
binds our spirit with God.
Then a person is
resurrected
to true life,
partakes
of the Holy of the Lord,
tastes
that the Lord is good, and
lives
in a state of supreme peace.
… God's love, as an inner union,
binds our spirit to God.
Then a person will see a wondrous change in himself: the renewal of his inner strength, the revival of the spirit, he
rises
to true life, having hitherto been suppressed by her spiritual and bodily movements,
enters
in the light of the face of God,
partakes
of the Holy of the Lord,
tastes,
as if the Lord is good, and
lives
in a state of supreme peace forces.

By
uniting
with the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer through
spiritual communion,
we become
partakers
of all the good things that are in Him.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the King of the Spiritual World, of course, and of all that exists: —
uniting
with Him in prayer in
spiritual communion,
we (in some way), by His infinite goodness to us, become
partakers
of all the blessings in Him,
tasting
eternal life in the Source itself and heavenly bliss, which, according to the mind of church teachers, will consist in the contemplation of God and in the
communion
of His good Being.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the light, according to His Divine word about Himself:
I am the light of the world
(John 8:12).
Entering by prayer, which is the aspiration of our mind and heart to God, into this Divine light, we become, by the inevitability of our communion with Him,
partakers of His non-evening illuminations.

Prayer
necessarily unites
our spirit with the Lord.
And this love or remembrance of God, expressed by prayer,
necessarily unites
our spirit with the Lord
into one:
in what unity,
partaking of His Divine nature with our spirit,
we become partakers of eternal life.
Prayer unites us with God in such a close and closest union that we are in it with Him, according to the word of St. Apostle,
"one spirit"
(1 Cor 6:17)
and become
"partners of the Divine nature"
(2 Pet 1:4).
Everywhere we place prayer above all the virtues, among which there is nothing equal to it, of course, in its highest degrees. It unites us with God in such a close and closest union that we are in it with Him, according to the word of St. Apostle,
"one spirit"
(1 Cor 6:17)
and become
"partakers of the divine nature"
(2 Pet 1:4).
Of course, such closeness and such extreme unity of our spirit with God cannot exist anywhere except in prayer, and even in the worthy communion of the holy, life-giving, immortal Christ Mysteries.

Jesus Prayer
how, through prayer to Jesus Christ, to
unite
your soul with the hypostatic Word of God, that is, the Son of God.
A conversation between two desert elders about how, through prayer to Jesus Christ and other virtues, to
unite
your soul with the hypostatic Word of God, that is, the Son of God, and through this to be a
partaker of the eternal life
even in this temporal life.
Jesus Prayer contains
the nature that belongs to the Son of God
both in terms of the economy of our salvation and in terms of His Divine, Hypostatic state.
… But it is impossible to see the Lord and unite with Him without grace-filled prayer.
There is no doubt that any other prayer composed by the holy fathers is God-inspired, Divine and partakes of grace-filled power, in proportion to our proper attitude towards it;
but with its more or less complexity, it does not have that easy convenience so that you can read it constantly, at any time, in any occupation and in any place. Despite its brevity, the Jesus Prayer contains
the nature that belongs to the Son of God
both in terms of the economy of our salvation and in terms of His Divine, Hypostatic state.

Jesus Prayer
connects us with the Son of God
in the closest way.
St. John the Theologian, ending his Gospel, says:
"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;
and that believing ye might have life through his name"
(John 20:31).
In a word, the Jesus Prayer connects us with the Son of God in the closest way and in Him makes us partakers of eternal life, which, according to the word of St. Apostle and is in the Son of God
"In him was life"
(John 1:4).
