Maximilian Kolbe. Consecration Church. Personalities John Paul II, Pope

Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe

Maximilian Maria Kolbe was a Polish Conventual Franciscan friar. He volunteered to die in place of a stranger in the Nazi German concentration camp of Auschwitz, Poland during World War II. Canonized 10 October 1982 as a martyr of charity.

Born: 8 January 1894; Zdunska Wola, Russian Empire
Died:  14 августа 1941; Auschwitz, Poland

In 2000, the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (U.S.) designated Marytown, home to a community of Conventual Franciscan friars, as the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Marytown is located in Libertyville, Illinois, and also features the Kolbe Holocaust Exhibit.

Our Lady needs our collaboration

Modern times are dominated by Satan and will be even more so in the future. The Immaculata alone has received from God the promise of victory over Satan. But in the glory of Heaven, she needs our collaboration today. She seeks souls who will consecrate themselves entirely to her, becoming in her hands a force to conquer Satan, and the instruments to establish the Kingdom of God.
