Midst of the week
The length of our days is seventy years
Week, seven, seventy — all these point to the complete cycle in time.
The days of our years
threescore years and ten;
and if by reason of strength
fourscore years, yet
their strength labour and sorrow;
for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
in the cutting off of my days,
I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
Deceitful men shall not live out half their days
But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out
half their days;
but I will trust in thee.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the
midst of the week
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make
desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom
shall arise: and another shall rise after them;
and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
And he shall speak
words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a
time and times and the dividing of time.
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy
unto the end.
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom
an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which
upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that
it shall be
time, times, and an half;
and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these
shall be finished.
Let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
For then shall be
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here
Christ, or there;
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if
possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert;
go not forth: behold,
in the secret chambers;
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
In those days shall be Affliction, such as was not from the Beginning of the Creation
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,)
then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if
were possible, even the elect.
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains;
and let them which are in the midst of it depart out;
and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days!
for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled (ἄχρι πληρωθῶσιν καιροὶ ἐθνῶν).
The beast has power during half of week
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who
like unto the beast?
who is able to make war with him?
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;
and power was given unto him to continue
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not;
for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot
And I will give
unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred
clothed in sackcloth.
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies
three days and an half,
and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a
thousand two hundred
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a
time, and times, and half a time,
from the face of the serpent.
